Singer/Songwriter Charlie Harrison

I grew up in Texas, now I am playing Texas music in DC. Please come see me and the Contraband sometime. I post stuff related to music I make, the music my friends make and the music people I dig make.

Me and the boys are playing at Fairgrounds DC on Friday at 9. It’s free and there will be a mechanical bull, picnic tables and food trucks. I have played gigs with each of these things before, but never all in one location. Some of our other area buddies will be playing too, like THJB, so get there early and have a great time.

The 9 Songwriter Show at Iota

I am excited to be playing at IOTA this Tuesday, March 20th as part of Justin Trawick’s “We are the 9” concert series. If you have not seen it before, “The 9” consists of Justin and 8 other songwriters he invites to play in some of the area’s best listening rooms. It is a great chance to see and hear a broad swath of talented writers, and some how I slipped into the line up this Tuesday. Cover is only $10 and if you say “hi” to me at the show, I will give you a CD. I could use the support and I hope to see you there.

Big night at Velvet Lounge this Friday. Happy to be playing this show otherwise I would be buying a ticket to see Bobby E. Lee and The Sympathizers and The Highballers

Big Thanks to Tony DeFilippo for sharing these images of us playing at Cowboy Cafe last weekend. Courtesy of Tony DeFilippo Photography.

We will be back in June.

Charlie and the Contraband covering Hayes Carll and Ray Wylie Hubbard’s “Drunken Poet’s Dream”. Lot of fun to play this song.

Me playing my song “No Sense at All”. “…She don’t make dinner, and I don’t make money”
